MultiTech Enables Award-Winning Innovations for LoRaWAN™

All three finalists in LoRa Alliance™ IoT Challenge showcase how LoRa® technology can make the world a better place using MultiConnect® Conduit™ IoT Starter Kit for LoRa Technology.

This year’s global IoT challenge focused on creating a safer and smarter sustainable world with four solution submission categories: food, water, health and safety. Entrants submitted a description of their LoRaWAN™ solution from one of the four focus categories and included the benefits, how it will be deployed or utilized, and a prototype of the sensor or sensing solution. Finalists received transportation and lodging to Mobile World Congress 2017 in Barcelona where the winner of the challenge was named.

MultiTech demonstrates NB-IoT and more at Mobile World Congress

The international wireless community recently converged on Barcelona to show the world what’s new, and MultiTech was right there with them, demonstrating the suitability of NB-IoT technology for smart cities applications. MultiTech and Stream leveraged a u-blox NB-IoT module integrated into a MultiConnect® Cell 100 Series cellular modem into a solar-powered school zone blinker. The demo, based on currently available solution from RTC enables school systems to re-set the blinkers in the event of schedule changes. IoT-X is a multi-technology connectivity management platform allowing users to monitor, manage and monetize connectivity across any technology types. IoT-X supports connectivity from MNOs including NB-IoT and CAT-M as well as traditional Packet Data. IoT-X also supports Satellite and LPWA networks, including a LoRaWAN™ network server for the easy creation of public and private networks. IoT-X allows management of all your connectivity on a single pane of glass.

MultiTech supports the next generation of innovators

New university program & Smart Gadget Competition
We’re launching a new university program next month with the University of New Hampshire Smart Gadget Competition – an event designed to allow UNH students of all majors and skill levels to collaborate and build a custom Internet of Things (IoT) solution. Participants will be trained how to access Senet’s LoRaWAN network and develop a real product prototype using a MultiConnect® mDot™ module for LoRa® technology from MultiTech together with STMicroelectronics’ environmental and proximity sensors. In addition, students get to keep their finished products.

Check it out.

Science Olympiad
Our team of students from Mounds View High School just won the state Science Olympiad – taking first place overall as well as in ten of 14 individual categories. We can’t wait to see how they do at Nationals next month!

Technovation[MN]
This year, we’re partnering with Code Savvy to support their program Technovation[MN] and drive traffic and lead generation at our public tradeshows. For every badge scan we'll make a $2 donation to the program which brings the Global Technovation Challenge to our home state of Minnesota.  This technology and entrepreneurship program guides and inspires girls in middle and high school to dream up, design, code and pitch a mobile app to solve a local community problem. So far this year, we’ve raised more than $1,600.
